Internet Crime Complaint Center

IC3’s mission is to serve as a vehicle to receive, develop, and refer criminal complaints regarding
the rapidly expanding arena of cyber crime. The IC3 gives the victims of cyber crime a convenient and
easy-to-use reporting mechanism that alerts authorities of suspected criminal or civil violations.
For law enforcement and regulatory agencies at the federal, state, local and international level, IC3
provides a central referral mechanism for complaints involving Internet related crimes.

Better Business Bureau

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) system in the U.S. extends across the nation; coast-to-coast, and in
Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico. Since the founding of the first BBB in 1912, the BBB system has proven
that the majority of marketplace problems can be solved fairly through the use of voluntary self-regulation
and consumer education.

  1. Katherine Hanna says:

I discontined my service with Direct TV on May 15, 2017. At that time I was told that I had signed up for a 2 year contract and would have to pay a $90 early termination fee. Then in the same call she said no it was $180 because I had a 1 year contract. I told her I hadn’t signed anything and no one told me there was a fee to discontinue. The answer was they had connected me with a third party verification company and I had agreed to the terms. I know I talked to the third party company but neither the Direct TV people or the 3rd party informed me of a disconnect fee. I feel I have been swindled with no disclosure. I signed no contract. Etc. Is there someone I can have give me some advise? I am 73 years old and don’t have a lot of extra money to give to scam artists.
